Re: How do 'you' know which cyl must be richer?

Yep I can agree that the rear cyl is running hotter than the front at certain times BUT how should carburation be changed to suit that temp increase? I have my own ideas on this (see my background below), I'm interested in proof of testing from anyone else in the world. Well I only have over 20 yrs...

Re: How do 'you' know which cyl must be richer?

Some say "the rear cylinder runs hotter (which I could agree with) and that it needs extra fuel to cool it", surely the the designed-in factors of the cooling system would control that? Re: Something new, balancing carbs?

These bike do tend to run a bit different with the air box removed....for me, it has always been best to sync the carbs with everything installed.

Easy to fit??
Well yes and no...... because you need to remove the swingarm bolt to mount the rearsets on a VTR it is a bit more complicated than most bikes.
Other than that they are easy to install

Re: a bit of spondoness.

Kind of why I have suggested trying a different exhaust..... not that it makes sense but seems like the only bit that has been the same through all the troubles.

- I think buying a new replacement after market is the way to go - any recommendations for a good replacement? They seem pricey here and I’m back in the UK end of September for a week so may pick one up there...

Re: Gilles Rearsets

Yes you are correct in that the "stock" position is 1 up and 1 back.

I run mine 1 down but haven't moved them forward and it does give you a bit more room
