Re: Op Storm III: Yorkshire Dales 18-21 May 2017

I was thinking about this, and maybe introduce a new rule, if you see a camera, pull over cause everyone else will show to see if everything's fine, and this will slow the group for the camera. We could try somebody 'riding point' like, as a sacrifice to save the rest of us, ideal candidates requir...

Different Models allowed? Down graded to a CB500 but live quite local to the Dales and wouldn't mind a brisk rideout (as brisk as it can be on a CB500...)

Re: Pimped

That front end is beautiful, really like how the tank protector in black blocks off half the tank.
Well done for taking the plunge!

Re: what bike did you have and let go but would like back

I had a CB750 1994 in perfect condition that was a great all round bike (kept up with Triumph Daytona and a Ducati 748 with a slipping clutch!) but that had to go once it was stolen and recovered as it never felt the same again. Had a few lost to non-fault accidents too that I miss: Honda NSR125 200...

Re: Valves meet piston ?????

When doing my CCTs I managed to make a cam jump a tooth but after re-adjusting everything the markings were still out by around 3mm from the cyclinder head (didn't align perfectly, possible cam chain stretch but within limits). We checked, checked again and all was fine. Popped back together an no i...

Re: New Remus exhaust. Should I drill it?

If your thinking about doing it, do it in a way it can be reversed at first :P
Sod the locals, loud pipes save lives and a booming V-Twin turns most heads.

Look forward to hearing it as I have the old Remus cans with fixed baffle.

I could only find red APE CCTs when shopping for mine and those look way nicer in silver.

All the best with the rest.

Re: Another year, another starter motor....

Trying to bump start the VTR in cold weather when this first happened to me was really interesting!
Design flaw!

Hope you find your other gremlins :D

Re: Questions, questions. New to 'storm.

2. Clutch seems really, really grabby? Bleed and put in new fluid and slave cylinder seal 3. Will the larger tank from later models fit right on without any mods. Honestly like others have said I wouldn't bother and it does involve faffage 4. I may pick up a lower fairing, anything I need to be care...

Must say the VTR looks really good with those Fireblade forks on and it's in the fastest colour, always a benefit!
Just me getting a TL vibe with the black front fender?

Good luck with the mod :D

All signed, hopefully it will never see the light of day as everyone is aware of the risks just the certain few who want to find someone else to blame/claim from.

Re: Guy back on the Island

I think this year might be his final big push for a win at the TT.

I think he's made an excellent choice with the Honda Fireblade as I feel it's more suited to the road racing, albeit with fancy parts fitted! :D

Re: First V-twin

Welcome! IMHO I changed mine at only 20,000 miles as I heard they are most prone to failing on the overrun from high revs. I your giving it beans a lot I would change it sooner rather than later. It's easy enough to do but don't rotate the engine with no tension on the cam chain, learn't that the ha...
