Re: Black Storm rising

Wow. It's been really long time since I have updated anything. But I have been working with good-old-Stormy meanwhile and there has been plenty of improvements. Such as that the engine is now in one piece and attached to the frame. I needed to get the valve clearance done in a workshop. To organize ...

Re: Black Storm rising

As said, I was about to move to new country. Finland to be exact. And I did. And so did poor old Stormy. I managed to get the engine "more or less" to one piece and attached that to the frame. So the transport was relatively easy and it is now staying for a while at my friends shabby shed....

Re: ' GrainStorm Sandals Scandal'

Sounds like we have a member of 1% group here...

99% of the Stormists wear decent footwear but the 1% is criminal master minds.

Re: Black Storm rising

Thanks for Cybercarl about the links. They were helpful. Of course, after waiting a week to get the o-ring I found the original one... But only after it was already too late. :eh: Since I finally got the o-ring yesterday, I have actually managed to get ahead with work. Engine looks like an engine ag...

Re: My list of bikes

Suzuki TS125 -72 -old, ugly but lots of fun in the forests nearby. Honda NS 125 F - the best small bike ever made, crashed point blank to a car. ouch! Honda NSR 125 -91 Bad big brother for the previous one. But it had a "feature" of killing the pistons. Honda CX500 C -81 Sideways v-twin. R...

Re: Black Storm rising

öpThe trouble just keeps boiling doesn't it. F-word here and some others as well. :x http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/7429/ohring.jpg It seems that I have lost the o-ring from the clutch piston side. :x It must have dropped when I splitted the engine, and now it is gone. And I already put the sili...

French speeding cameras connected to UK traffic systems?

The hell freezes over before that happens :) (well actually the hell melts again, because it froze when Finland won the Eurovision contest)

Re: Ultimate USB output

:) Indeed. There are lot's of options available off the shelf. Here I wanted to play with electronics and to make something unique. Maybe it is not the best, but I personally value the craftmen who take a piece of aluminum and carve it to a something blingy at their kitchen table. So this ...

Re: Anyone play instruments?

Guitar, bass guitar...

And Didgeridoo.

I had a long break and I just recently started playing again. Feels good and I will now really try to practice (and collect a band bit later).

Ultimate USB output

You can buy lot's of things directly. The real deal is to do everything by yourself. So instead of spending 25€ for the USB output cable, I decided to do one my own. What do you need: - 1 pc: 330nF 50V condenser - 1 pc: 100nF 50V condenser - 1 pc: 10uf 25V electrolyte - 1 pc: fixed voltage regulator...

Re: Black Storm rising

Yeah. I am afraid it is too deep. I will try to return it today. This will again delay the rebuild, but if they agree for the change, I can also get new oil ring for the drive axle. Not that it is leaking or anything, but I think it is worth of changing when the engine is split. Update: I returned t...

Re: tonyw650 the update

I share your pain. Be strong and polite, that will drive your ex bonkers. And don't fell to her level - keep calm and professional. Play by the book (law book that is, not bible what says that you can stone people to dead...) and eventually you will become ultimate gentleman and your ex looks like a...

Re: Black Storm rising

After some consideration I am trying to return the bearing. Now I just have a double trouble, since it has small markings about the installation on the other side, they can just say that: You have scratched it yourself while installing it... Well, I don't lose anything (but one workshop day) if they...

Re: Black Storm rising

It's a small step for me and meaningless leap for a mankind... but I finally got the pistons on place and new bearings, and now I just need to tighten the bolts and I can actually put the block back together! http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/1346/blokkscj.jpg One of the piston bearings had a scratch...
