Re: Black Storm rising

The exhaust valves from one cylinder were also bent. I think this has been one reason and/or source for the lack of compression. So at one point the CCT has failed at least partially (possibly with the previous owner and he hasn't fixed everything). However it doesn't explain why both of the cylinde...

Re: Black Storm rising

And here we go. http://imageshack.us/a/img688/284/clutchwork.jpg The modest extension for the wrench can be seen next to the bike. 2 meter iron bar. Surprisingly handy tool. The nice clutch holding tool is as well still on it's place. Also here is image of the crankshaft bearing. Does it look too wo...

Re: Black Storm rising

It seems that my Saturnalia present arrived a bit late. But I finally got the damned clutch basket open! I only needed to bolt the engine back to frame, get the clutch basket holding tool, make an extension lever of 2 metres for the spanner and finally it opened. The feeling was like a getting high ...

Re: Black Storm rising

The next problem arrives. Now it really seems that it would have been cheaper to buy new engine. I got a call from the workshop doing the valves... They are bended. So the CTT has failed earlier. Not sure if now with my driving, or have they failed with the previous owner... But since the pistons se...

Re: SPRING RATE CALCULATOR

The stock spring was on the lowest possible pre-tension setting. So I don't think I can set the static sag any more. That did neither have much of effect. Of course new Öhlins would be great to have, but there is no hope to get that with my salary. So I have to go 1/4 price and start with things I c...

Re: SPRING RATE CALCULATOR

Ok, Here is the dilemma. The original spring is hard as a rock. Raceteck gives spring rate of 15,8kg/mm for my weight. The closest spring available is 16.1kg/mm. Original is 16.4kg/mm. The lower option would be 15.2kg/mm I know that I am light weight series driver so I find it really odd that going ...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Today I have been mainly causing havoc. Ruined the rest of the clutch basket. Ordered funky clutch basket tool and now I am seriously thinking to buy air compressor with pressure tools to unscrew that FU**ing bolt. Opening that causes problems also because the engine is not mounted on frame, ...

Re: Sleeping Tabs

This definitely not work for all, but here are my tips: To fell to sleep: count in your head from 200 down to 0. This must be done in reverse order. The "science" behind is that this is bit more complicated than the normal counting, and that gets your brain to "sleep zone" better...

Re: Engine split

I seem to have turned a maintenance to a mayhem. Before I destroy the clutch basket completely, some very simple questions.

1. Does the bolt open clockvise or counterclockvise?
2. What is the size of the bolt? (30mm or 29mm)?

Re: Clutch Basket Removal Tool

Well, since I don't have the haynes manual, and the workshop manual is only referring to the "official and expensive" clutch center holder - Could someone scan the page from the Haynes manual showing how and what kind the "easy tool" would look like? :?:

Well, now I truly pimped Storm's clutch.

You know, it is bit heavy so I decided to lighten it up a bit:

Re: Engine split

I think the oil filter removal tool (with belt) will be good to hold the clutch basket in place. What is the size of the socket I need? It is so big that it is not usually available on the kits so I need to buy it separately and i prefer to get it right at the first time (not like with the spark plu...

I think I actually signed with two different names. The first signing got somewhat wrong (wrong email or something) and the registration was successful, but the password is lost and the email doesn't work... This could e a reason for "ghost" users as well.
