Re: Your top speed

You don't help yourself do you. you reckon your bike shows 180mph on the clock, corr look mister that clock shows 180mph it must do it then... your's is the only one. you get a bee in your bonnet and you have to be right, but your not all the time. But then again you might own the only one, from th...

Re: Almost had a fault free ride.... almost !

I agree with your gearing theory. I tried one tooth down on the front years ago and it just doesn't work, the gearbox ratio's throw a curve as 5th and 6th especially are long, but the others are not. I then changed back and went just one tooth up on the rear, not a massive difference felt a little m...

Re: Your top speed

Of course it'll be nothing to do with the fact they only have about 100hp  and can't pull the gearing in top. Tyres slip, well not all tyres are the same, so one tyre would slip more than another and you'd have different top speeds for different tyres. then there's tyre profiles, (we've had th...

Re: nothing to do with storms

All singles, they can be great fun but easy to get bored after a while, some of them may not be the most reliable either..

My tip would be a Street Triple.

Re: Sprockets please

Experiment if you get them cheap. I found on track the smaller front just caused the engine braking to be to much and made it harder changing down causing the rear to lock. I ended up just using 1 tooth up on the back from stock. Raced mine at Brands and Lydden, Brands gearing generally same as Cadw...

Re: VTR ownership diary by The Lens

Shock sock will trap moisture and rust your spring, if left could cause the shock shaft to corrode too.. Fine if you like them but need taking off regular to dry out and clean under, not easy to remove once fitted on some bikes.. I have to disagree with you in that a hugger works fairly well, and it...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Done nothing to it for ages, only ridden about 20 miles on it since September last year. Must put an MOT on it as it runs out tomorrow and I need to ride it for next weekend's Devonstorm.

Re: My first racing experience

Well done Nick, nice right up  the best thing is you can only get better from now on. I've never been to 3 sisters, the shortest track I've raced on is Lydden, only 1 mile, my old Storm went really well there and similar to Al I still hold a race record in the twins and triples class (carbe...
