Re: Shock Sock anyone.

I wish I'd taken a picture of the WP shock I got off Mark, it had a shock sock on and the spring was badly corroded, there was pitting all over it, looked like it'd been rough sandblasted. fortunately the shaft was ok, I cleaned and painted the spring and it all looks good, but if you look close you...

Re: Shock Sock anyone.

I can't see the point on a dry weather bike, the shock will be well protected from stone chips by the hugger. Unless you like the look of it. In the wet they might help but you need to remove them regular and clean/dry the shock or it will corrode as moisture gets trapped. As it's probably a pain to...

Re: Import bike

If it has a sticker can't odds that. would have had the original clock changed from KMS to MPH but that could have been done from new.. Don't know about Canadian model differences, it might have the emissions stuff on it, same as our F2 version but different in that I don't think they got the bigger...

Re: Handlebar height

In brackets on the first line  VFR race bike with storm front end.. The VFR has a longer headstock so forks are pushed down. you know where the standard clipons fit to so add that to 33 and you've got standard height.. for example the top of the forks to the bottom of the groove is 5mm (that's...

I thought the commute was classed as private use. I could be wrong though maybe just assumed, would be worth you checking out for sure though.

Re: New Job...

If you not bothered about private use of a van, how are you going to get to work ? surely you'd have to commute on your bike and have all the costs that go with it.

Re: Handlebar height

on my race bike (vfr with storm complete front end) I have the forks flush with the top of the handle bars, they are 33mm showing above the top yoke. if you measure from the top down to the bottom of the clip groove then subtract that from 33 you'll have the standard height. I think you might need t...

Re: New Job...

So you get to take a van home on the new job ?. the 6 week weekend on call as long as it doesn't clash with storm op's.. I know some people that do similar on call but they get asked to do more weekends (sometimes those asks are not optional as the firms need cover regardless) so you might have to b...
