wheelies

just 1st gear wheelies for me too... Haven't got the knack of clutching the storm up in second - can't get it to wheelie just using roll on and off in second (bike is standard cans and gearing)... that said my 1st gear ones normally last till i hit the limiter - have tried changing up a couple of ti...

Just showed the pics to a guy at work who knows these things and he reckons a decent TIG welder could sort that no problem All the load a headstock has to deal with is on the bottom race which transmits it directly to the frame rails The bit you've broken just keeps the top bearings (support for th...

Pics

Well it may have been slightly faster than 30 mph but can't have been that fast. It was going into the S bends fairly eraly on at about 2kms. I really am not sure what to do with the bike. As you can see from the pics (especially the last) the crack is in the headstock of the main frame. http://pg.p...

Firestorm frame

hey everyone. Just go back from the Nurburgring with a little damage to my storm :( Basically I lowsided at about 30 mph and caused little damage to the right side of the bike. Having got the bike back to the car park it was all looking like reasonably minor cosmetic damage until someone noticed tha...

test bimble

well went out for a short ride (10 miles into Bath and back). short story is that the back is not binding (as it wasn't getting hot which I assume ot would do if it was binding. But the back brake is not really working. I suspect that I have made some school boy error in reassembling. The thread of ...

wheel alignment

I will take a little vid of the caliper movement... Pretty sure its not the chain as it is fairly new and the spot is the same everytime the wheel goes round. I think the chain takes more than one wheel revolution to go completely round if you see what I mean. I have tried activating the rear brake ...

Having put the caliper and pads back together it doesn't seem quite right. :? If I spin the rear wheel it spins but then...

thanks mono - there are several places (ohlins, wp(?), nitron) who will do shocks for a storm - I was just trying to be cheap and see if one from say a 96 blade would fit cos I might be more likely to find a 2nd hand one of them on Ebay PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT THINK A 96 Blade SHOCK WILL FIT A STORM S...

new bearings

Thumper - as already said when ou fit new ones they have to settle for a bit and then be nipped up a it. MIght settle a bit more but unless you have to ajust alot then don't worry! As with other parts they will wear and will need tightening every now and then. ON an R1 ou can need to adjust them eve...

hmm....

yeah i noticed the rod... Took the cover off last night to have a look cos I was worried but don't know if anything is wrong. Its worth pointing out that I changed the chain and sprockets 4 weeks ago and didn't have any noise until after I had finished changing the CCTs... Funnily enough when I took...

funny whineing noise

Hey everyone. Recently given my storm a major service including replaceing the CCTs (sounded rattly at 2500-3000 rpm) and checked valve clearances. Anyway, the CCT rattle has gone but something funny has started to happen... When riding along when I get to 70 mph I can hear an audible whine. I I bac...
