Go the hole hog why not ? Sounds like the fitting kit from a Rentec grab handle kit, as you say the fitting slides into the end of the seat frame, the only part missing is the grab handle. You should be able to get the handle on e-bay.

Hi, Agree with Fenner Wurth High Performance Dry Chain Lube have been using it for years very little fling off, best lube I have used, came top MCN lube test a few years ago. Give it a go don't think you'll be disappointed.
