Re: Engine oil
Rock oil guardian good spec for the price, even Halfords own brand 10w40 semi synthetic have done over 120k on that various bikes, no problems!
Remember frequency of change more important than buying a really high spec big brand synthetic product. IMO oil & filter every 4k is ideal.

Clutch slave cylinder gasket
Having a big clean up of 15 years of lube & crud before moving to dry lube.
The slave cylinder gasket didn't survive in one piece. Can I get away with instant gasket to re-assemble it doesn't retain any fluid behind it so it seems to be a big paper washer to me?
Ta, Neil.

Re: Hagon Shocks and Fork Springs
I once bought a Hagon shock for my VFR, it went back for a refund as it felt worse than the OE that had done 47k. Apparently I'm not the only one. I bought a WP shock which was more expensive but very good. Nitron do have a good reputation too, also had Proflex recommended to me by bike mechanic who...
Re: Mot time
I don't get the advisory AFAIR as long as the cans aren't marked 'not for road use' it's at the tester's discretion so why pass the bike and give out an advisory basically saying 'actually they are a bit loud'? :? I think there's new regs on the way that say something like if the cans do not make mo...

Yep seems like he was looking at different exhaust.
In his defence I've had some very good parts from them in the past.

Re: Paint fork bottoms
This is how I did mine on VFR and firestorm, both suffer same fork leg paint issues. Shopping list includes: Meths Paraffin Hammerite spray silver Masking tape (about 20mm I think) Wire brush Sheets Remove fairing - come on it's only 10 minutes if that. Loosen axle, clamp & caliper bolts. Front ...

Re: Pilot Sports
A big thumbs up here fro Pirelli Angel STs  Seems to me ST tyres have come on so much recently their performance levels are beyond 99.99% of us anyway, you get excellent wet & dry grip and good wear rates, watch Rocket Rons video on the 023's which they use at the race school instead of...
