On a serious note, Ahem! What is special about a 50Th?
We didn't get them here in Oz.

Re: swing arm project
Nice clean bike you have to start with!
Keep us posted and of course you will need beer when things go a bit pear shaped(Hope they don't)
Pics will be appreciated as well.

Re: swing arm project
Good luck with it. I looked at the single sider before I did my brace and I must admit that the linkages and extended wheelbase put me off. Also whilst I like mods I wanted more of a stealth look. Ones that only VTR owners would recognise as a deviation from the norm. I must say that the arm looks f...

Re: Just Can't Stop The Mods
Yes it is. This was a worthwhile addition especially if you press on a bit.
I fitted it because the caliper upgrade I did was flexing the forks under heavy braking.
The front end now feels much more planted than before.
Definitely recommend it.

Re: Just Can't Stop The Mods
The sticker is my mantra in a sense. All my riding mates can't understand why I love my bike so much especially having regard to some of the exotic machinery I have owned. Every mod that I have done has had a purpose for the use that my bike gets. It goes like stink and munches miles like nothing. I...

Re: Just Can't Stop The Mods
I did them when I did the flywheel and electric water pump. It was easy as they were of the bike. Removed the original finish with a dremel and then used various grades of wet and dry by hand to get the desired finish. Then polished the crap out of them by hand as well as I wanted them just right. I...

Re: Just Can't Stop The Mods
They cover the fairing holes. Made up a bracket for behind the fairing out of some stainless to be able to position them properly. As we say here in Oz, a piece of piss! Great result for a little effort! Am thinking about some auxiliary LED's on the rear that will bolt onto the bottom of the license...

Just Can't Stop The Mods
Now have LED's all round. Ever since I got the Storm the blinkers gave me the shits. Now there gone and I'm happy!!!, http://i1000.photobucket.com/albums/af129/kbarr2/swing%20arm%20swap/A0EF3594-C6E9-46B9-A4C4-35DD57E611CD_zps0qa1ecrs.jpg http://i1000.photobucket.com/albums/af129/kbarr2/swing%20arm%...

Re: No more biking for me
What a story, good to see you are thinking bike again. If you must go to the far side an SV1000 is a good choice. I have a mate with one and it's nice to ride however it's not as edgey as the Storm. Are you sure you can't find a Storm? You deserve a beer    to get through all that!

Re: Braced swinger
One of the best things about the Storm ia what you can do to it. Yes I could of bought an Sp1 at the time but as there was an 848 Evo Corsa and an Aprillia Shiver in the shed at the time I chose the Storm. It was going to be my hack but there was something about it that told me it was a good thing t...
