Yeah, my '99 is cold blooded even in mild winter temps here in AZ! I give it plenty of warm up time. My idle is set for 900 though. Learned how to control choke during startup and warmup!

I ride a '99 model year and get to about 110 or so before warning light. Got a high of 47 mpg on one tank but avg 42 - 44 most tanks. Spirited riding nets less of course.

I own a 99 with 2000 miles. I get 110 miles, 177 Km, on a tank. I must have the smaller tank based on model year. Idle speed less than 1000 rpm. I don't ride aggressively! Stock exhaust.

Just installed a Backoff Wig Wag tail light modulator. When brakes are activated, twin brake light bulbs alternate flashing 4 times, then on solid for a few seconds, then flash 4 times before going on solid. Mine makes a knocking noise occasionally too. Scared me the first time I heard it. Now, after a brief warm up, goes away altogether.
