Helmet Respray
It is a glass fibre helmet, i have heard about the problems with polycarbonate lids. Hopefully I don't lose the sharp edge when flatting the edges but I will see when i do it. As I don't have an air brush kit so looking at just using normal car spray, which should be ok i reckon but if anyone knows ...

Custom Lids
Have decided to spray my old lid, nothing fancy, just a few graphic stripes. The cheapest I have seen for a custom spray job is far too pricey for a second helmet. I am considering doing it myself. Have done some masking and spraying before on other things so I reckon the ability is there but I coul...

misfire at 6000 rpm
When I bought my firestorm it had the same problem, it felt like riding with a rev limiter on. when i changed the cam chain tensioner the mechanic checked the timing and it was out. I think it is normally it is caused when someone changes the tensioner and rotates the rear wheel, moving the engine a...

Mirrors
Ah, I see your problem, The only solutions I can think of off the top of my head are to have a bracket made to drop the mirror to view below your elbows (similar height to ST1100 Pan Europeans) or take the mirrors off and put one of the mirrors that fit to the end of the grips. Cut and paste this in...

Tucking Elbows In
I was always told that riding with your elbows tucked in was a more optimum riding position as opposed to the elbows out Traillie style. Has the added benifit of being more aerodynamic, gives more control, reduces the shock of bumps going up through your elbows and shoulders but more importantly, ke...

No Avons
Went to the tyre shop and they did not have the Avon Vipers so I got some Pirelli Diablo Stradas instead which is another new option as I have not read any VTR reviews of the tyres but the general reviews of the tyre seem good so I will have to keep you posted. (when the shinyness has been worn off....

Avon Vipers ???
Need to buy new tyres tomorrow thanks to a rogue bolt sunbathing in the middle of Highgate Road, that fact that the tyres were squared off and were due for a change anyway may have been a factor. In any of the previous forums every debates between Michilen Pilots and Bridgestone 020s with the odd Du...

Bluesman The bike is a 1999 T reg bike. Rear CCT changed about 4,000 miles ago Front one seemed fine at the time so didn't replace it. Full service 6,000 ago. Don't know when the front was changed but I have only had the bike for 6,000. Was riding along at a sensible 45mph, no tapping or funny sound...

:( Sorry to hear about your woes, If it is any consolation mine went too on Monday while in Devon 200 miles from home. Timing chain has jumped the teeth and mullered the valves. The bike is currently sat in pieces at my friends farm in Somerset while i finish walking around kicking things deciding w...

Motorcycle Surgery Streatham, South London.
Hi, Just a quick note about 'Motorcycle Surgery' in Streatham. Super Chap (Dunstan). He has a small unit just off Sunnyhill Road in Streatham which is where I took my VTR when it had a puncture. He fixed it there and then in a flash. Got talking saying that I had a constant misfire at 6500 rpm and t...

Arai Dual Sport Base Plate
Hello, Does anyone know where I can get a base plate (the connecting bit between the visor and the helmet shell) for an Arai Dual Sport. I love the helmet but because the model is discontinued all stockists seemed to have burned all spares for this helmet and there appears to be none left in the wor...
